Emotions Are Tides — Learning to Dance with Them
Sometimes, emotions
come like tides.
Nothing unusual has happened, yet suddenly we feel low, anxious, or agitated—as
if the whole world has turned heavy.
Often, we blame
ourselves for “falling into the same pattern again,” or we scramble to find a
cause, analyze what went wrong, and try to “fix” the feeling immediately.
But have you ever
considered—maybe emotions are not problems to be solved, but waves of life
moving through you, reminders, or a release of old energy?
In one healing circle,
someone shared that she often felt like crying at night for no clear reason. No
trigger, no event—just tears. When she stopped judging herself and simply
allowed the emotion, she began to hear a forgotten voice within: “I’m tired. I
wish someone would hold me.”
Emotions are not
wrong. They are messengers of parts we haven’t listened to. They are the body
saying, “See me. Feel me.”
Instead of resisting
emotions, we can learn to dance with them. Like tides, you don’t need to push
them away or immediately understand their source. You simply stand your ground,
feel their flow, let them come—and let them go.
In time, you’ll
realize: emotions are not enemies. They are life, loving you in waves.
