Realness Is More
Powerful Than Perfection
I used to think
“light” meant flawless—
pure, untouched, without a trace of shadow.
So I tried to be perfect.
Say the right things, do the right things,
hide the tears, the doubts, the softness.
But then I saw—
what truly warms me,
what makes me feel safe and seen,
is not perfection—
but realness.
A person who doesn’t
mind crying in front of you.
Someone who admits they’re afraid, messy, uncertain.
Someone who relaxes into who they are around you—
That is light.
Real isn’t “not good
enough.”
Real is how hearts meet.
You don’t need to be
perfect to be loved.
You just need to allow yourself to be real.
Allow the days when
you feel tired and lost.
Allow the moments when you can’t hold it all together.
Allow the not knowing,
the still figuring it out.
When you show up in
your truth—
you shine.
