Healing Is Not About Becoming Better,
But Becoming Real
Many people, once they
begin their healing journey,
Often believe: I need to become a better person—
More stable, more gentle, more loving.
So we try to overcome
negative emotions,
Suppress anger, avoid sadness, deny confusion—
Thinking this is what “progress” looks like.
But true healing is not
about becoming better.
It’s about becoming real.
Your real self has
both light and shadow.
It smiles—and it cries.
Sometimes it’s clear—sometimes it’s confused.
It’s imperfect, yet alive, feeling, and human.
Healing is not about
banishing the “bad” parts,
But about embracing the hurt, the suppressed, the forgotten you.
You don’t need to
become who others expect you to be.
You only need to slowly, gently, dare to become who you truly are.
That… is when the soul
finally begins to come home.
